Hello, There are several conditions that can result in severe ear pain together with headache. Your description of the complaints are inadequate.I need to know whether you are experiencing hearing loss in the affected ear and whether you have any discharge from the ear. This condition can also result if you had a flu or upper respiratory tract infection in the previous week, which has led to the infection of ear called Acute Otitis Media.
So my advice is to go to an ENT specialist and let him have a look at your ear canal and ear drum.He may take an x ray of your head to rule out sinusitis. I don't think surgery will be needed to cure the pain.Taking some oral pills will solve it, but the type of medication depends on your ear condition. So visit an ENT specialist in your neighborhood at the earliest.
Wishing you good health.
