Suffering From Strep B. Doctor Told Organism Is Non Viable. Treatment To Get Rid Of Strep B?
Hi. I have been diagnosed with Strep B. My doctor said the strep organism is "non-viable," meaning that it is not suseptible to antibiotics. I have been on antibiotics and they have not been working, and I have been suffering from a 100.8 degree fever (+ other symptoms) for three weeks (my normal temp is 97.6). I feel aweful! How can I get rid of this Strep B if antibiotics won't work?? I appreciate your help and guidance! Thanks.
Hello, Thanks for using health care magic for posting your query. The best thing you should consider is getting a culture of your throat bacteria and do some sensitivity test. That way in lab itself you will know, which antibiotic is good for you and you need not try all of them. Warm water gargles and steam inhalation. Lots of fresh fruits, chewable vit C tablets and drink lot of water. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
