Suggest Cause And Treatment For Recurring Typhoid
Hello sir, I am suffering from typhoid fever for last 3 yrs.Every year i got treament & and last year also got typhoid vaccination. But in this summer season again my widal test is positive i.e is (1/80). I have body ache. Sir please suggest what I have do? & what is the reason of typhoid reoccuring

There is few misconception in India regarding typhoid fever , such as it occurs every year , don't eat cold things etc .
I want to tell you that typhoid fever is a systemic disease characterized by fever & abdominal pain and caused by Salmonella typhi & S . paratyphi for which humans are the only host.
Food or water are the contaminated carries .
Positive culture of blood , stool or other specimens are required for diagnosis .
As far as concerned about Widal test if 1:160 or above than this , it is called as POSITIVE for typhoid fever , in your case it is 1:80 it means NEGATIVE , so why are you bothering.
Fluoroquinolones are drug of choice.
After this cephalosporins are drug of choice .
In my opinion for body ache consult another physician and get his opinion .

I really appreciate your concern and looking to the history given here this may not be typhoid fever but could be something else typhoid test which called "Widal test" this is titration test and this remains positive for long time with the clinical symptoms or infection of typhoid fever because of the titration value and this is not the sign of reoccurrence of infection, take care and have a nice day.
