Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern.
I will try to explain you something and give you my opinion.
You should know that cholesterol level depends on two factors : dietary style and genetic factor.
Dietary style has to do whith thinks that we eat that might rise cholesterol levels. As you explain you have a healthy diet and you do usual physical activity. Thos helps to controll cholesterol levels.
But if they still remains high this is related whith genetic factors. There are some genetic factors that cause what we call familiar
dyslipidemia.
There are problems related to receptors of the cels that cleans the cholesterol in our organism.
This problems to the chromosome, receptors or cell membrane cause high levels of cholesterol even whith healthy diet.
This are factors that you cannot change by your self, you cannot modify them. The only way in this cases is to take medications that try to controll this problem in the cell level.
So, my opinion is that you should discus this whith your doctors to advise you for the right moment to start medications if we are shure to have a healthy diet and regular physical activity.
The target is to have
total cholesterol below 180 mg dl.
Hope I was helpful.Wish you good health.
Best regards
