doctor hi i am dps raghuvanshi male age 75 your patient at kg in c lucknow due to personal compulsions i am presently in nagaland s advice for you i m take in his home log insulin 8 units before breakfast 4 units b4 lunch and 2 units before dinner i am also take in lantus insulin 5 units after dinnerlast 3 days my blood glucose level have gone up in spite of taking all precautions and diet control my blood glucose levels are 160 before breakfast 284 lunch and 150 before dinner or after dinner there are 200 and 49 please advise any changes in the insulin 3gp as advice for you thank you
Hello sir, The lantus dose is highly inadequate. You should atleast take 10 units of lantus at night. Sometimes that itsel will get things right. Since you are on basal bolus insulin, we need atleast 4 readings of blood sugars daily. Increase Lantus by 2 units every 3 days till you reach FFBS less than 130. Even after this if blood sugar is nott good, then we need adjustment in Humalog dose. Are you not on Metformin? Regards Binu
