Hi, my question is about my stomach...or intestinal problems. I m not sure which I m actually having problems with. You see I used to be addicted to opiates. First vicodin...which was a few years ago but I was taking about 20 750mg pills a day. Maybe for a year. I quit, I was on suboxone for a while...and then I developed a heroin addiction. I recently underwent a rapid detox procedure and I have been clean for over a week. I m not really worried about going back to the drugs but ever since the procedure I have been having horrible problems eating. It is becoming crucial for me because I am 5 6 and I weigh 80lbs at this point. Nothing tastes right or smells right to me, but thats not really the problem. Everytime I eat...if I have a full meal or just more then a few small bites of food, I become extremly nauseos and feel a sort of heaviness in my gut. This lasts for extended periods of time, 6 hours min. It is not till I fully digest the food that the pain subsides. At which point I have diarea. I really need to gain weight and I don t know what is wrong with me and why I am having so much difficulty eating. For example, last night I was feeling ok and I felt hungry so I ate about 6 perogies. This was around 7pm. After about 15 minutes the naseau and stomach pain came. I sat in the bathroom in severe pain until 5 am the next morning. I vomited up the perogies after I tried drinking some soda to help my stomach. I spent some time throwing up and then I was just in naseau and pain. This pain did not subside until 5 am when I digested the food in the form of diarea. Does any one know what this might be or have advice on what I need to be doing to get my body back to normal and able to eat regular food again? I went to the hospital and had a cat scan which came up clean but it did not check my intestines and they told me this was not really a suitable test for finding stomach problems and wanted me to stay for further tests in the hospital but hospitals scare me so I would love some advice from this site.
