Suggest Diet According To This Cholesterol Result

I am 43 and just received my cholesterol results: Total 299, Tri 95, hdl 67, and ldl 213. I ate artichokes dipped in butter (which I rarely do) the night before the test. I do eat a lot of dairy, but I rarely eat anything processed. Most of what I eat is homemade. I am 5'3" and only weigh 108. I have dysautonomia and my doctor would rather not put me on meds, so I must diet (I'm also celiac). Do you have any suggestions?

Diet doesn't affect cholesterol level so quickly if you have had your blood test for lipid profile after 10-12 hours of overnight fasting.
You can include low fat dairy products like skimmed milk/toned or double toned milk/curd and cottage cheese prepared from milk but avoid butter, clarified butter, margarine, milk cream, ice creams as they have alot of fat. Since, you are having celiac, you must avoid all wheat products including breads, other bakery products, barley (malted foods and drinks) and rye. If gluten free breads/pasta/noodles are available in your region, then you can have them. Avoid oats as they might be contaminated with gluten. Unless you are sure that oats are pure and uncontaminated, do not have them. Oats are rich in soluble fibre which helps to lower cholesterol. There are other foods as well which you can safely have to lower your cholesterol like whole bengal gram, beans like chickpeas and kidney beans, cluster beans, raw onions as salads. Have plenty of raw vegetable salads without oily dressings.
Include fresh fruits like apples, guava, melons, citrus fruits in your daily diet.
If you are a non-vegetarian, you can choose lean meats, eggwhites, skinless chicken and fish. Avoid rich gravies and oily curries. Cut down on your fat intake by using not more than 3-4 tsp of refined vegetable oil for cooking per person per day. Use non-stick utensils for low fat cooking.
You can have brown rice, parboiled rice or partly milled rice. Include sprouted pulses, grams as salads.

Hope these suggestions will guide you to lower your cholesterol levels.
