Suggest Diet Plans For A Gilbert's Syndrome Patient

My daughter is 16 and she was diagnosed with gilbert's syndrome one year ago- due to yellowing, fatigue, and weight loss. Are there certain foods she should avoid or be eating? Her weight has slowly continued to decrease & her fatigue is severe after doing an activity. What should I be doing?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

There is no reason to modify your diet if you have Gilbert’s syndrome and the standard recommendations on diet and exercise still apply.
However, you may find it useful to avoid known triggers for the condition, such as dehydration and stress. This can be managed by taking adequate amounts of fluids while going out in the sun and by keeping herself mentally calm.
