Suggest Management And Prognosis For Breast Cancer Stage 3A
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer stage 3A, invasive ductal carcinoma. I did mastectomy and now I am feeling good. I should start therapy at oncologist, I would like to hear more about treatment, nutrition and possible newer treatments. What are the real prognosis?
Hello dear. Hope you are doing well. You have little advanced form of disease but still overall good prognosis and chances of cure. You will now require chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy. More over depending upon some tests on your tumor tissue you may require targeted therapy (tastuzumab) or hormonal therapy or both. You need to take normal healthy diet as any other person . You should avoid raw uncooked food during the period of chemo therapy. The treatment may cause some side effects but that are mild and short lived. I hope you now understand well. Take care regards
hello dear. You should start chemotherapy from the 3rd week of surgery. Chemotherapy will depend upon you age , cardiac status and receptor status of HER-2. Prognosis also depends upon the stage and receptor status. Overall cure rate in this stage is around 60 to 70 percent. No special nutrition is required except for properly cooked hygienic food. Thanks
