HI there, I am a 38 year old women, I have recently been on meds for blood pressure, tried hydroclorthoroside first, worked wonderful but developed a rash after month on it, but my pressure was great! Tried Adalat next, and didn't do much for my blood pressure, and my left foot, and left hand seemed slightly swollen! I gave it every effort to kick my habit of smoking, and I have gotten 3 weeks in now, with just using nicotine gum, maybe 2 to 3 times a day! It's different then every other time I quit, I am not going back this time, ever, it has worked for me so well, and I can tell that I am committed this time to never going back! My question is though, the adalat wasn't working, so my DR switched me to ramapril, and said that you may or may not take a reaction to it. I quit taking the Adalat 3 weeks ago, and didn't take anything for bp in that time, because I was using the nicotine gum, I wanted to get a good start on that first, and I wanted my hubby home incase I took a reaction to the new meds, his first day home was yesterday, I took it last night, didn't get much sleep last night. But for the last week and a half, my left hand and foot are slightly swollen, and the top of the right leg, is numb. I know my sciatica has been acting up, but would this cause swelling? Also, I haven't done what lots of people say they do, coughing up junk, and stuff like that, is it possible I am getting rid of the toxins in water weight, and should I start a water pill? I leave for an Orlando vacay in 3 weeks, and don't want to feel like this to go! Thanks
