Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcareMagic
Acne is a very common skin condition.
Face wash alone would not be enough to control acne. I suggest you to try specific treatment for acne.
If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to use topical antiacne antibacterial gel e.g clindamycin 1% gel or
benzoyl peroxide % gel, to be used on active acne during day time.
At night, I suggest you to use a topical retinoid e.g adapalene gel. Topical retinoids are comedolytic ans antiinflammatory and therefore prevent new acne apart from treating existing ones.
Topical retinoids are also ideally suited for maintenance of improvement on account of its comedolytic properties.
Retinoids also help lighten marks left over by previous acne.
I suggest you to visit a
dermatologist in your region. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
Your dermatologist might also start you on
oral antibiotics e.g doxycycline, if your acne is inflammatory.
Besides, Oral and topical treatment your dermatologist might also ask you to take a few sessions of chemical peeling.
Salicylic acid peel is quite useful for acne whereas
glycolic acid peel is mainly for acne marks and scars.
