My mother aged 67 years has fasting blood sugar 110 and post lunch 230. Can I give humar mixtard insulin injection of 12 units morning and evening plus morning MELMET SR 500. Is it ok. Or shall I discontinue Melmet as I am giving insulin morning and evening.
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Sir/Mam the fasting blood sugar level of 110 is under control, Post lunch is higher. Web site terms and conditions doesn't allow us to mention dosage of medication. In my opinion, you can continue same medication which you are using now for 1 more month with blood sugar monitoring. Please consult your mothers treating doctor with the sugar values. Under his/her guidance only any changes should be done.
Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to me. I will be happy to help you. Thank you. Dr Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
