Suggest Medication For Clogged Ears

I just finished 7 days of augmentin. I have had clogged ears for the past 11 days. I am also on Flonase and prednisone. How do I cure the clogged ears? I've used Neti pot, simply saline, and mucinex d but they still will not go back to normal. Please help!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have clogged ears which are not getting better with medicine. There can be many reasons for clogged ears like Eustachian tube dysfunction, wax buildup, ear or acoustic neuroma, chronic infection like upper respiratory infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may examine with otoscope and order CT scan , throat swab test or viral culture test to confirm the diagnosis . You should take combination of antibiotic along with anti inflammatory medication. Doctor may also place tubes in ears . For now keep your ears dry and apply hot compresses to external ears.
