Have had intermittent (very few) since 5 years of age, am now 62. Developed chronic daily headaches/migraines at about age 30. Started on Imitrex injections at that time (I was an R.N. so M.D. prescribed the vials with syringes (clearly awhile ago). Anyway, long story short, have tried a myriad of meds, treatments (allopathic as well as alternative), to no avail. My neurologist prescribed 10 mg amitriptyline today, which I haven t started yet and had never heard was a prophylaxis for migraines/chronic daily HA s. However, I am now reading the reviews of these patients online and am very encouraged! Is this a relatively new approach to migraine prophylaxis? and can you direct me to some more detailed info, i.e., studies that have been done? Thanks much. Steph
