Suggest Medication For Pain In The Left Shin Area

I am not sure if i have shinsplints or a stress fracture. i used to have shinsplints (for sure) in both shins but then after running a 4K race in RI today, my right shin is completely fine while the left shin (towards the center of the more muscle-ly part of my inner shin) hurts way more than usual. I love running and i hope i dont have shin splints!

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Get your vitamin D checked, and also get your X-rays done. Take calcium supplements, apply Diclofenac gel and take over the counter painkillers for 3 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
