Suggest Medication For Possible Impingement Syndrome

Over the past few days, I noticed a gradual weakening and increased pain in my left shoulder -- particularly involving activities where I attempted to lift my elbow above shoulder level. I can't think of any recent activity that might have caused it. I am 46 years old and physcially active. Last night, it was painful to sleep on my left side. I've taken ibuprofen twice since last evening. From what I've read online this morning, my personal diagnosis is impingement syndrone. Just wondering if I should just continue with ibuprofen and limit overhead arm activity or go see a doctor.
