Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had unknown tailbone pain for 4 weeks now. It is not getting better. I do aggetate the area when I sit or lay wrong (espec. at night). I did go to Dr. He physically examined the area. It does hurt to the touch. I can walk, stand, play tennis- all that without bothering it. Or at least I think it is not bothering it. I don't know the cause...all I know is that I was driving a friends vehicle and after a few hrs. of driving noticed severe tailbone pain- and that takes me to this date. I am wondering if I should get further diagnostic testing or wait longer? Pain like this, how long does it typically take to heal? Should I be at all concerned at this time that this could be a tumor/infection. Keeping in mind that a dr. examined the tailbone and did not feel anything abnormal.
