Suggest Medicine For Hypoglycemia

My mother is 76 years and a diabetic for 25 years now. Recently she had bouts of hypoglycemia sugar levels 44 and 54. She is currently on antibiotics and also takes eltroxin50mg daily. She takes cetapin XR 1000mg and amaryl 2mg. Which is a better option to continue with cetapin XR 1000 mg or amaryl 2mg. To avoid incidence of hypoglycemia

Thanks for using healthcaremagic. I understand your query..
If i am your treating doctor, would prefer you to continue cetaphin XR because of its less hypoglycemia incidence relative to amaryl and also it is not associated with weight gain(as she is a case of hypothyroidism where weight gain is normally evident). However, would strongly suggest you not to change prescription without discussing her treating doctor.Hope I have answered your query. If any clarification, wish to help always.Take care.
