Suggest Medicine For Pain Relief From Arthritis

I (F-65yrs) had orthoscopic surgery of my knees as i am suffering from arthritis but still i suffer pain and swelling in my knee joint
the knee x-ray shows the miniscus not soo much detoriated
maybe after 2-3 years i will need a joint replacement operation
in the mean time how can i overcome pain , i can still walk by my self and do my work at home(house-wife)
