I had a tonsillectomy 4 years ago last Feb. and have two pits in the back of my throat where my tonsils once were. The left side gets food stuck in it sometimes and can be pretty bothersome. Is there any procedure I can go about to get the holes closed up?
Hi.Tonsils are located in lateral wall of oropharynx. After tonsillectomy (dissection of tonsils)tonsillar fossa (left over space)is bounded by anterior & posterior pillars. As a matter of fact food particles will not collect there.therefore nothing to worry.Get feeling out of your subconscious mind & live normal life.I hope my answer will be helpful & healthy life ahead.
