sir, Iam 41 year old, diabetic for 11 years now-weight 58 kgs.
Insulin dependent for past 5 years. Recent HA1bc was 9.0.
2 years ago Iam told the disorder I have is 'brittle diabetes'.
Presently Iam taking Novomix 14/12 and Cetaphin thrice a day.
Iam diet conscious and my food habits are moderate.. except on few occasions... when I take food more but try to compensate during other meals by taking less, or taking food of low calories.
Do walk between 30-60 min everyday.
Consult my doctor once every two months.
Yet haven't found improvement in my health...
Could you pl suggest any more advices I can follow..
As you are taking proper lifestyle measure to control Diabetes in term of Diet control and Exercise. Diabetes is progressive disorder and you need to enhance the medication as the duration of disease increases. As you are already taking Cetapin (Metformin) three times a day. I would suggest you to increase the dose of Insulin Novomix to be increased from 14/12 to 20 in morning before breakfast 15 units in evening before dinner. Consult your doctor regularly as you are doing.
