Hello. Thank you for writing to us

Acne is not uncommon at your age. Post acne dark spots are a common complication of inflammatory acne.
Though external cleansing is important in acne prone skin but it is not sufficient all by itself to get rid of acne.
Treatment varies according to the severity of acne.
Topical treatment alone suffices for mild to moderate grade of inflammatory acne and includes topical antiacne antibacterials like clindamycin gel, benzoyl peroxide gel.
Topical retinoids e.g adapalene gel is first line treatment for all grades of acne.
Adapalene is anti-inflammatory as well as comedolytic and therefore prevents new acne formation in addition to treating existing ones.
Topical retinoids also help lighten the dark spots left over by acne.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your region. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
Your dermatologist might also want to start you on oral antiacne antibacterials like either doxycycline, azithromycin or minocycline if your acne is inflammatory.
Once your acne activity is under control you may specifically use pigment reducing agents like kojic acid for dark acne spots.
