Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm nearly 56 now and a teacher. I'm obese and short statured. I'm on mostly salad and fruit, milk diet and eat very little due to weight gain. My profession requires me to stand during lectures. Some months I get continuous lessons. Eventhough I have a kinaesthetic way of teaching yet sometimes I have to stand at one place for a long time. I have noticed varicose veins on my right leg calf on the outer side of calf. I'm very active at work and I have to climb two sets of staircases to get to my teaching rooms. I have been feeling heavy on my legs and my toes also pain after one hours lesson. I grab a chair to sit and relax my legs. I used to wear heels which I stopped from the past 4 months. I wear skechers sport shoes which aren't closed at the heels. They're very comfortable to my feet. Inspite of these I feel heavy on legs after half-a-day work. I exercise also. Kindly suggest/advise.
