SIR,
I AM TAKING 20 UNITS OF INSULIN IN NIGHT MY BLOOD SUGAR IS 106 BUT BRFORE BREAK FAST I TAKE 25 UNITS BUT MU SUGAR LEVEL GOES UP TO 320 AFTER 2 HOURS. KINDLY ADVISE.I AM 65 YEARAND DIABTICS SINCE LAST 30 YEARS DINESH GUPTA

The increase 2 hours after breakfast would imply that it may be related to the carbohydrate content of your meal or mean that your morning insulin is too low.

If you are using a lot of carbohydrates it would cause a large increase in your readings.

You may want to use a food diary to monitor your meals and the readings. Also consider consulting a nutritionist for dietary advise.

If there are no major changes to be made in the diet, it means the am insulin needs increasing.
