Dear Doctor,
I am Srikant(25) undergoing CAD training in Pune is suffering against dust allergy. Previously I used to have derbies around the eye lids/hairs
(Blepharitis) . After using certain eye drop, keeping small hairs and controlling dandruff, the problem of blepharitis is almost gone and it took almost 1 year.
Now the problem is when ever I come across dust, smoke I get an itching or sensation of some foreign materials inside the eye at the corner.
It is more with the left eye. This problem is more in spring what I guess. The eye turn so red with the appearance of blood vessels around
the pupil frightens me. Itching sensation all the time. Small amount of soap water or normal water while bathing causes irritating and quick
sensation of some foreign material just at the corner of the left eye. All the time the eye wax coming out at the corner.
My Doctor Mr. Devdhar in Pune told me it is Trachoma.
The eye drop for this given by Mr. Devdhar was, Albucid 10% which I used for 1 month.
Additionally I had Cap-Eye Vital Lx.
The problem was the same and I suffered worst.
In my native place in Orissa, a well known Doctor, Mr. Nageswar Rao told me it is dust allergy.
He prescribed me,
1) Refresh Tear(eye drop)
2) L-Pred (Eye drop)
which cured me in just 3-5 days. No itching, No debris, no redness, no sensation of foreign material, no appearance of blood vessels and no wax at all.
He had warned me not to use "L-Pred" more than 10 days.
After the dose was over, I returned to Pune.
He had told me that if I face the problem again, better to use Olopatadine eye drop.
Surprisingly after 20 days, I faced the same problem.
I used Olopat but it did not work. I called him and on phone he told to use Ketlur .5%.
This Ketlur created extreme itching and I had to stop it.
He suggested to use L-Pred and Refresh tear again for a week.
Now my eye is cured again after using them. It is just 3 days I am not using any drop and again slight itching and sensation of some foreign material has started.
I am really scared.
I am worried about my career as I will have to use the computer for 8 hours daily doing map making.
Is using L-pred for a longer period dangerous? Does this problem have no medical cure?
I am confused what to do.
Your valuable suggestion will be grately appriciated.
For any reply, I shall be grateful.
Yours truly,
Srikant Panda
