Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello doc,I got my endoscopy done twice and my gastroenterologist said i have a helicobacter pylori infection. I was on a treatment for 8 weeks, one week antibiotic course and 7 weeks antacids. after treatment my burning sensation went off. but still my bowel movements are not normal, i get bloating sensation my times and i keep on burping throughout day. What is the reason behind this? is there anything serious?
Probably due to antibiotic course your normal intestinal flora replaced by abnormal bacteria which may lead to excessive gas production. Other possibilities like food allergies or irritable bowel syndrome etcetera.
Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Avoid smoking. Use tablet simethicone twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
