Suggest Remedy For Retinitis Pigmentosa

Hi, My son is suffering from retinitis pigmentosa and is aged 17. Is there any treatment available at ur center. The doctor says since it is a genetic diease, there is no treatment but the only thing that can be done is stop the progression. Is there any medicine which can do that.

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

Retinitis pigmentosa is degenerative condition affecting the rods. It is true that there is no permanent cure for this condition. But definitely the progression of the disease can be stopped by drugs like vitamin A, topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
Many treatment modalities are under trial, retinal chip implantation are under clinical trial and may come as boon in near future.

Thank you
