Suggest Treatment For Retinitis Pigmentosa

My relative's son is affected by this retinitis pigmentosa. Now he is aged about 23. Can you have any treatment for him to get back the vision. He can now see the biger letters only. At present he is in chennai. He is from Rameswaram Kindly advice me. He had his consultation in Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.

Hi, as of now there is no proven treatment by which you can get back the vision that is already lost in retinitis pigmentosa. That being said, many studies are being conducted to halt or slow down the progression of the disease. Low vision aids such as hand magnifiers are proven useful in certain cases of retinitis pigmentosa. I suggest you consult your eye physician for further information on these low vision aids. Let’s hope for the best.
