Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Its been six years since I broke my back L1 bursted lately I have been having more pain a mri is being done on Monday or maybe tlhis is just living with a broken back we will see on Monday. Is there a book out how to live with a broken back some days my pain is more severe. I don't know if I am doing too much or is this part of it.
Hello, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from post tramatic chronic backache after L1 burst. Brust fracture occured 6years back so it is unlikely to be directly related to it.It may be due to weakness of bone and muscles and vitamin and trace element deficiencies specially vitamin D and vitamine B 12. Back exercises, neurotropics such as mecobalamine and analgesics (DICLOFENAC 100 MG SLOW RELEASE TABLETS) give relief. Sometimes vitamin D deficiency can aggravate this so serum vitamin D test is advised if it is low than vitamin D supplementation will be required. Avoid long continuous standing. Sit in a straight posture. Eat milk, fruits and green leafy vegetables daily. You need to done MRI TO RULE OUT other causes. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
