Hi,

Your husband has flank pain which radiates to the shoulder and then to the head. He needs a detailed physical examination of the abdomen, the back and the spine. Also exam of the peripheral pulses of the body. Does he have any kidney problems, stones, urinary infection etc. The thoracic spine needs to be scanned to rule out any bone pathology. Please get these done to know what this pain is about.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. George Verghese, Orthopedic Surgeon
