Suggest Remedy For Strep Throat, Ear Infection With Sore To Touch Lymph Nodes In Neck

Hi I have a question. I accidentally left a tampon in for about 3 weeks. After realizing it and took it out I had a smell, which subsided and is now gone however, I ended up with strep throat and an ear infection, to which has been treated by a doctor. NOW, my throat is NOT soar BUT, my lymph noides in my neck are so soar to any type of touch. I am not sure what is going on. Hopefully, you can shed a bit of light. I don t wanna freak myself out.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of strep throat, ear infection with sore to touch lymph nodes in neck which is due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract as well and due to inflammation and infection of lymph nodes. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory . Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages.
