Hi my name is Lyn, I am 39 yrs old, I am average height and am very overweight (140 ish kg). I take medication for insulin resistence and irregular heart rhythm. I have had indigestion, slight shortness of breath and the feeling of something stuck in my throat for about 5 days now. It came on suddenly and increases and decreases with no routine . I recently had my blood pressure checked and that was fine but my resting pulse rate was 100. What could possibly be wrong ??
Your symptoms could be related to anxiety. Anyway, before coming to this conclusion, I would recommend checking your thyroid gland (an ultrasound, thyroid hormone levels and anti-TPO antibodies) for possible thyroiditis, which can mimic this clinical situation. Other tests to be considered would be: - Complete blood count for anemia - Blood electrolytes for possible imbalance - A chest X-ray study and pulmonary function tests - A stool analysis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
