Hi,
Varicose veins could be hereditary. But need not worry its not a serious issue. You are under the right treatment. Conservative treatment consists of Compression stockings and Tab
Daflon which you are taking. They are both good to keep the varicosities in control.
But for definitive control, surgery would be required. This can be in the form of Laser/ Radiofrequency ablation/ open surgery.
All choices exist nowadays and done very well in India and Mumbai also.
You can contact any Vascular Surgeon there and he would be happy to do it.
I have some friends from my community of Vascular surgeons there who can see you. Do let us know.
The means of treatment you would need to discuss with your Vascular Surgeon and then you can decide. First two means are without any cuts and the last one which is the Gold standard has a small incision. But you can choose either and the recurrence rate of any procedure is around 1 to 2%. Therefore whatever procedure you undergo, there is a 1 to2 in 100 chance of a recurrence of symptoms.
Therefore, I advice that you fix an appointment with a Vascular Surgeon and let him/ her explain the details and then decide.
If you wish to contact me then please post a Direct/ specialist query on the Website for us to help you further.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
