Suggest Remedy To Lower Cholesterol Levels Without Life Long Medications

I'm 49 y.o., male, of Asian Indian descent, born in the U.S.A. (Hey! that's a song, isn't it?). Today, I learned my total cholesterol is 225 (I think, >200 anyway), with LDL 169. I'm reluctant to start on a (remaining) life long regiment of statins. What should I do? Am I being paranoid about the Lipitor?

Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern. You shoud not worry . I'll try to explain you something and give you my opinion.

You should know that cholesterol target levels depends on some factors like your age and other associated rics factors like hypertension , diabetes , smoking and hereditary history of high cholesterol levels.

Normal cholesterol level should be below 180 mg / dl and for ldl col below130 mg / dl.

If you don't have other risc factors that I mention before you can try dietary modification.

It is essential to avoid high cholesterol food, fast food, pizzas, sweeties, white bread.

You have to do regular physical activity minimaly 40 minutes every day.
You can try this for tre month and repeat dhe blood analyze. If you don't have results than it would be mandatory to strart medication.

You should not be paranoid about medication. They are very effective in lowering cholesterol and this is the most important thing. They rarely have side effects.
Having high cholesterol is most risky for your future.

Hope I was helpful.Wish you good health.
Best regards
