Suggest Remedy To Relieve Pain In Ankle Post Foot Correction Surgery
I had a foot correction last July after much pain and a collaped arch in right foot. Posterior tibialis tendon was completely torn and absorbed. They used a "spare" tendon of my big toe for transplant, lenghtened archilles tendon, did correct my heel with a screw. I do have neutral orthotics. Now I am having my outside ankle of this right foot playing up. Could this be the Anterior tibialis tendon which is doing the same? The pain is very much like the above. Something is rolling over or catching just above my ankle bone and this has to release before I can walk and gives me extreme pain.Just today after stapping out of the car it was the worsed pain I have had in that ankle and I could not walk until this rolling or catching pain is gone. I had an appointment to see my surgeon today but he went on holiday and this is now postponed for two weeks. Is there something I can do that is won't get worse. I hate to think having to go through this whole procedure again. Because of burns on my calf from the Plaster of Paris I had complications. These burns were dressed by district nurse who missed noticing a staph bug in it. I have been on antibiotics(Amoxicillen) for the last 3 months to keep it away. When stopped it flares up again. I had 7 open wounds from this all, now only two scabs left. Nearly there. Because of all this I haven't been able to do exercises which I needed to do, for moving my foot properly again. Physio therapist could not work on the calf muscels and I could not go into a pool. This greatly hindered her doing her job. Could all this have given me this setback? Please is there something I could do to prevent it tearing further just for those weeks I can't see the surgeon. So painfull and I am really worried. Not again!! Many thanks for reading this and I hope there was not to much garbling. English is my second language. Maria den Hertog
