Hi, ECG stress testing is useful for identifying patients with coronary artery disease. It provides valuable prognostic information due to increased cardiac metabolic demand during stress test. When the cardiac metabolic demand exceeds myocardial oxygen delivery due to coronary artery disease, patient can have show certain ST/T wave changes. When there is downsloping ST depression, it is a very reliable sign of ischemia. As it is induced due to treadmill, it is called as inducible ischemia. You can get an cardiac angiogram done to evaluate the amount of obstruction, and based on it, further course of action can be decided. Hope it helps. Any further query, happy to help again.
