Hi,
It is quite obvious that your cough initially was due to Lisinipril which is a common side effect of these medications (prils, ACE inhibitors).
Chronic cough can be caused by many other underlying conditions such as GERD (heart burn), other medications, chronic chest infections (in smokers), throat or larynx infections and of course psychological cough is another option, you can begin with investigating for GERD (
Gastro esophageal reflux disease)
Upper endoscopy according to your physician.
Thyroid conditions are less likely cause chronic cough although they have direct relationship with palpitations so in order to find exact cause of palpitations thyroid function test can be done (TSH, free T4).
Norvasc doesnt have anything to do with cough. After taking off the lisinipril from the list cough should resolve within couple of days, if not we must look for other conditions as mentioned above. Age,
smoking history, sex, medication history and previous procedures on throat(
Tonsillectomy etc) or thyroid (Laser procedures in thyroid nodules) are important to mention in detail for future consultation with a doctor. I would rather recommend to start a small dose of Presartan 25 mg daily instead of Norvasc for your moderate blood pressure. Please Feel free to write for future assistance.
