Acanthosis nigricans is a skin disorder that results in velvety, light-brown-to-black markings that occur in areas including the neck, armpits, groin, and under the breasts.Acanthosis nigricans is a chronic disease of multiple origines...hereditary or syndromal, endocrinal, drug induced...etc.Acanthosis nigricans can affect otherwise healthy people also. You cosult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and treatment. Investigations may be done to rule out internal diseases. To improve skin appearance include Retin-A gel,20% urea cream, alpha hydroxyacids lotion or salicylic acid oint. may be applied. But, all are may produce irritation,so..take treatment under supervision of dermatologist only. I hope you got my answer.
