What is the age of your son. Surgery for adenoids can be performed only after the age of 3. But there are also some therapy options like oral steroids, which can help reduce the volume of the adenoids, decreasing the obstruction level. Antihistamines may be also helpful, based on the fact that the hypertrophic adenoids are caused by an allergic reaction. Allergy testing and avoid precipitating factors may be useful too.
