Suggest Treatment For Adrenal Nodule After Surgery For Lung Cancer
HI Dr,
My husband Had LLL for lung cancer 2 years ago.6cm poorly differentiated NSCC.Adjunct chemo and Permanent ileostomy from chemo complications.Following surgery he had multiple PE.On routine CT scan it was noted he had a adrenal nodule on the left Side .Size and characteristics are as yet unknown( to us)
What workups/treatments should he have?

I am afraid to say but this is not a good sign. Adrenal gland is one of the common sites for metastases from lung cancer. In the present setting, when your husband had advanced lung cancer, the development of an adrenal nodule mostly signifies recurrence of disease. You need to get a PEt/CT done in order to determine whether this is disease or not.

I would advise him to do EGFR and ALK mutation test in his biopsy sample.
As he is weak if the mutation is positive then oral chemotherapy with lesser side effects will work in his case.
