Please type your query here...I don't know what to do.....I have severe magnesium deficiency but I've also got extreme agoraphobia and haven't been able to leave to house in months. How long does it usually take to recover from this as I'm going crazy...I've been taking suppllents for two days now
Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder in which individual develop intense fear and anxiety in places from which escape is difficult. Usually individuals suffer anxiety in unfamiliar situations, in closed spaces. The situation worsens when individuals stop moving out of house. I would advise you to consult a Psychiatrist for treatment of agoraphobia.
Medicines like SSRIs are mainstay of treatment of anxiety. The medicines like Fluoxetine, Sertraline are commonly used. For anxiety provoking situations medicines like Propranolol can prove useful. Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
Non-medicinal treatment in form of Behaviour therapy is very useful. It includes relaxation exercises, Systematic Desensitisation or graded therapeutic exposure. These modalities have equal efficacy as medicines. For problem of hypomagnesimia consult a doctor for treatment.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
