General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Lyrica (pregabalin) is used for neuropathic pain and not for arthritis . Your pain could be neuropathic that is why your doctor had prescribed it. This one should be used for long term to get benefit. The dosage should be adjusted according to your doctors advise. Physiotherapy and Quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises are recommended knee arthritis. NSAIDs like aceclofenac can be taken for short term when pain is more. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
