Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has had back and neck issues since she's been a baby. She will be 12 in the begining of jan. Anyways we've seen our pediatrician about it over the years and 2 years ago he sent us to a physio therapist and she discovered that she had muscle problems. She said it was almost as if she had been in a serious car accident (which she has not been). She went on to say that she had very little abdominal muscles and her upper thighs were very tight because that was what was holding her back up. We did physio for about a year and she taught my daughter how to strengthen her stomach muscles and shoulder muscles (for her neck). But as soon as she stops exercising the problem starts again. what can be the cause of her problem? Why does a 12 year old have to work out almost everyday so that she doesn't loose her muscles in these areas?

Suggest Treatment For Back Pain In Children
Hello, Thank you for contact us, Now a days its mostly the common problems in humans. Due to inactivity of muscles it happens. Today every one having totally sitting life as no work at all that could be count as a body exercise due to that problem occurs. For neck muscles problem you should avoid to take pillow while sleeping, it may work for solution. Or you may take very thin pillow. Other exercise should be done as you said physio suggested. Hope it will work, if not than You should have to concern physio again as you said you had concern physio about a year ago. So concern physio again and check it out for details. Thanks & regards, Dr. Gaurav Prajapati
