Suggest Treatment For Blocks In Carotid Arteries
My dear friend since grammar school , she is 66, was told she has 65% blockage in both carotid arteries and was told nothing would be done unless a stroke or other symptoms occured. I am in Durham, Duke HOSP, and think she should come for an appt at Duke. My father in law was head of virology, Dr Joklik, and he can help with an appt. Is this a wise suggestion to make to her. She is in Myrtle Beach SC but grew up in durham.Thank u Danny Goodwin.

I read your query and understand your concern
It is said that carotid stenosis under 90% should be treated with double antiagregants (aspirin + klopidogrel )
If stroke happens it will be too late
Treat her for now with oral therapy and Doppler each year to see the stenosis
