When I urinate there is blood in my urine. It s almost like I m on my menstruation cycle but I m not. I m not experiencing any pain at all but it does concern me. I called to set up an appointment to a few health clinics but they are all closed due to Thanksgiving. Should I go to the ER or wait Monday to set an appointment?
As per my surgical experience, the blood in urination usually indicates severe urinary tract infection in the majority of the cases.
In the case where you are not able to consult your doc due to reasons, there is no emergency to rush to ER unless there is high fever, severe burning or very low urine output.
My guidelines at present
- drink more and more liquids
- cranberry sachet once daily in a glass of drinking water
- citrus fruits
- avoid sex if active
- rush to ER if above-mentioned symptoms appear or bleeding increases over a period of time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
