Suggest Treatment For Breathing Problems In Infants

my newborn great grandson was having breating problems and was transfered to a special unit and after 3 days a air bubble appeared on the x-ray between his lungs and the wall of his chest causing his lungs not to expand. They put him on his stomach under 100% oxegen to try to get it to move. What is the cause of this and what can be expected. The drs give him 90% of a full recovery.

Thanks for the query.
It might be pneumothorax.
Better if i can see the x-ray film.
Physical trauma to the chest (including blast injury), or as a complication of medical or surgical intervention can be some of the causes. Symptoms typically include chest pain and shortness of breath.
The treatment of pneumothorax depends on a number of factors, and may vary from discharge with early follow-up to immediate needle decompression.
Hope i helped you.
