Suggest Treatment For Burning In Throat After Undergoing Tonsillectomy

Hey, my girlfriend recently had a tonsillectomy back in July and she is still having a lot of problems. The doctor that participated in it hasn't been the greatest person to talk to and the doctor used a robot to perform the surgery. He has rescheduled her appointments numerous of times. She can't really eat like she is supposed to, she is always thirsty and it her throat burns when she eats. When she went back to the doctor he stated that there is something sticking out of her throat. What does she need to do as far as getting back on her right diet where she can eat and not have to worry about it burning, constantly coughing, hard time swollening, clearing her throat and spitting up blood (occasionally)??? Please help...

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like she has an infection in throat post tonsillectomy leading to pain, burning, difficulty in swallowing, coughing due to irritation, and excessive mucous and blood in spit..
You shuld consult consult an ENT surgeon and get evaluated and a laryngoscopy can be done to rule out the exact cause of the problem so that a proper treatment can be planned..
In case of infection oral antibiotics, painkillers, anti-inflammatory medicines can be advised..
Injectable antibiotics ,painkillers and steroids can be given for faster relief..
In case of excess mucous in throat a suction machine can be use to clear the mucous..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
