Suggest Treatment For Canker Sore After Having Lip Piercing
I got a lip piercing 6 days ago. There's nothing unusual going on with the outside of the piercing, but it seems I have a canker sore on the inside by the hole. The sore is painful to the touch. Is there anything I can use to help the canker sore heal that will not interfere with the healing of the piercing? It is not infected, according to my piercer. Thank you!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if there is an ulcer formation inside the pierced hole then the most probable cause can be infection at the pierced site.. Other cause can be that soreness is due to inflammation that is commonly seen after soft tissue injury by anything sharp and it can be a cause in your case.. Nothing to worry as it will get resolved soon if proper care is taken. You can apply a numbing gel at the sore are for relief, apply triple antibiotic ointment as well as steroid ointment.. You can also take tylenol or diclofenac for pain.. Do cool compresses and cold water rinses.. Avoid spicy food. You can also remove the tongue ring till the healing takes place..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
