Suggest Treatment For Cervical Disc Protrusions

Hello!
I have three seemingly uncomplicated 2 mm cervical disc protrusions at c45, c56 and 67. This is a chronic condition for over two years, and I have many months in which the pain is minimal. When it flares, I have lots of radiating pain in my left arm that goes to my 3,4 and 5th finger, also loss of hand coordination. I have tried Advil, Cymbalta and Cyclobenzadrine, none of those worked. Celebrex at 200 mg twice a day completely controls the radiating pain and most of the neck pain, but the break- through pain occurs within 6 hours and it is pretty bad. I have also never had pain on the right side of my neck and now it is on the right side too. And there is no way I could ever take this celebrex long term - it is just too hard on my stomach.
Thank you for your help and advice,
Gabriella

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. From your history you seems to have radiculopathy due to cervical disc herniations. For this in my patients i advise analgesics belong to NSAIDs or Opiods muscle relaxants and neurotropic drugs.I also send them for physiotherapy and physical exercises.Mckenzie exercises are helpful in relieving pain in hands.Corsets or braces if wear for long time daily will get benefit.Cervical traction can be done which reduces pressure on nerve roots.Local steroidal injections will be helpful in time of flare up.If you have no improvement even after this you think about surgical options like discectomy or spinal fusion.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
