Suggest Treatment For Chronic Severe Primary Insomnia

I have chronic severe primary insomnia responding less and less to pharmacological treatments. I have slept 39 hours in six weeks. I simply do not feel sleepy and rarely nod-off . My PCP doesnt know what else to try and doesn t know how to find a specialist in drugs for this. Should I be looking at neurologists or physichiatrists for pharmaceutical treatment?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Please see a psychiatrist as they deal with sleeping issues in almost every case and have a better grip on these molecules. Neurologist are also well aware of them, but as you have taken several drugs & still not satisfied, so ideally you should consult a psychiatrist.
You havent mentioned the drugs you already tried or otherwise i would have tried to help you accordingly.

Donot loose hope, you will definitely get better: there are several effective and safe new molecules available in market now a days.

Wish you good luck.
